Memo Pundits: I was doing my 5 years of law school from National Law University, Odisha in 2014. Throughout the course, I have always remained an active mooter with a number of achievements. During the initial years of law school, our batch used to take part in several moot court competitions. Since then, we realised the absence of formal training for moot courts and skills associated with it. Being the law student, me and my classmates experienced an acute lack of access to some of the essential skills that this field requires. Moreover, there was no formal training for the students in traditional classroom course and also there was a lack of platform to deliver these skills.
The foundation of Memo-Pundits
Considering these issues in mind, I along with my classmates co-founded a program that taught these skills to students and also conducted numerous workshops, which fetched us with enormous appreciation. This positive response had made us confident to go ahead with this idea further. During our law school, we also conducted several free workshops for the benefit of the law students.
Eventually, I along with my friend Rachendra, came up with a mind to look into this program with a business outlook and we both established Memo Pundits. The platform provides high-quality, affordable, in-person and online courses to law students across India.
Moreover, the program also offers the underprivileged students to access the skill to make them competent in legal profession- at court, firms and law schools. Hence, Memo Pundits has become a pioneer mooting school offering solutions to passionate mooters for national and international moots. We have also initiated an all-in-all mentorship program with an objective to make mentorship available for moot. Our mentors are diversified across various subject areas including experts from Harvard, Cambridge, Oxford, NLUs and Top Law firms.
Vision
Thus, Memo Pundits yearn to produce better litigators, Judges, policy makers and educators in the quality of legal education.
Meanwhile, Memo Pundits has already brought up nearly 5000 law students from more than 200 colleges across India. Amongst whom one of our students won the 12th NUJS HSF National Moot Court competition 2019-20. Besides which, the students bring success in prestigious citation at various moot court competition, including Oxford Price Media and Bar Council of India Moot Court competition.
